Wildlife Croft Skye has been owned and managed by Phil Knott and his family since 2015. The croft was originally planted with a mix of native woodland species in 2005, creating a rich biodiversity and natural shelter that strongly appealed to them. With a focus on horticulture and sustainable wood production, they have expanded the planting mix and adopted a sensitive approach to land management.
Today, the croft produces a range of important resources, including firewood, woodchip, basketry willow, apples, and other fruits. They also aim to produce all of their own compost for the fruit and native tree business.
In his event, Phil will explore the many benefits of trees for crofters, covering essential topics such as drainage, nitrogen fixation, animal forage, and biodiversity.
Lunch included (soup and sandwiches)
